Notorious

“Notorious” was inspired by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and one of her iconic collars. Just as she had many collars, she spoke many wise words. The intent of this piece is to honor Justice Ginsberg and share some of those words. Before I created this piece, I could picture it in my mind, but felt defeated because I had a tremor in my hands and I knew the intricate details would be lost or smudged if I did the lettering by hand. I found the appropriate tool to bring my idea to life, and leveraged it to create a meaningful work of art. One set of Justice Ginsberg’s words used in this piece is “Speak your mind even if your voice shakes”. I choose to believe she would also encourage me to “make art, even if my hands shake.” This work was designed digitally and foiled using a Cricut Maker machine in 2020.
