This piece is about the fragility of life, the fleeting nature of seeds dropping from a flower, and the power those seeds have to regenerate for the future. The raw threads coming loose at the edges represent our unfinished nature as humans. This piece was created at Penland School of Craft in 2021. The process for this piece included sketching, embroidering into a thin, water-soluble material, pulling handmade sheets of paper, and fusing the embroidery to the paper as it dried.
